At his first start, he was second to Ziggy Khan, who franked the form by blitzing them subsequently at Woodville, coming from 11th on the turn, in fast race. This second was in a 2100m race – first start in a race. Road Runner showed a great “turn-of-foot”, come from 8th early and 7th on the turn. A very good debut. At his second start, he won a 3000m hurdle in fast time. His opponents were vastly more experienced, having had a ‘median’ of 20 starts against his 2!
