Trackwork Wednesday 20 February 2019
Promising two-year olds Apicius (Redoute’s Choice/Vanilla Princess) and Navy Cross (I Am Invincible/Watchful) put in a stylish gallop over the Kensington track this morning. The pair bowled over the track in a professional fashion and found the line strongly to stop the clock at 11.7 seconds for the final furlong. Both two-year olds have taken huge improvement from their recent trials and we look forward to seeing them at the races soon.
Rockin’ Ruga (Fastnet Rock/Sevruga) has returned to the stable looking very well and this morning, he commenced his pacework over 800 metres at three quarter pace. He was happy to stretch his legs over the track and maintained a lovely rhythm down the straight to cover the final furlong in 14.9 seconds. He is still soft at this early stage, but he will certainly improve as we build up his fitness over the coming weeks.
Nicola (Charge Forward/Walkway) is steadily improving through her preparation. This morning, she bowled over 1000 metres at three quarter pace in company with Let Me Sleep On It (Manhattan Rain/Cheyenne Sure) and the well matched pair worked nicely to the line, covering the final furlong in 14.3 seconds. Nicola is only in the early days of her preparation, but she has a lovely attitude and is ticking all the boxes at this time.
Amazing Paradise (More Than Ready/Forest Beauty) has become a stable favourite amongst the riders and he earned ‘Best of the Morning’ honours from jockey Sam Clipperton in his gallop over 1000 metres. Sam commented, “The gelding has such a lovely action and he gave me a great feel throughout the effort. He feels like he’ll get over a bit of a trip in time, that was very well done.” We look forward to getting him to the trials over the next few weeks.
