Trackwork Wednesday 15 May 2019

Hemingfield (Deep Field/Hemingway Rules) continues to please this time in. The gelding worked over 600 metres at three quarter pace in company with Yao Dash (Smart Missile/Rahy Storm) and the pair bowled to the finish nose to nose, stopping the clock at a steady 14.1 seconds for the final furlong. Although it is only the early days of Hemingfield’s preparation, he is ticking every box and he will only improve as we build up his fitness over the coming weeks.

Lovely Animal Kingdom filly Mardi Girl (ex. Mardi) has returned to the stable looking big and strong. We gave her a couple easy days on the track to allow her to settle into the routine and this morning, she commenced her pacework over 600 metres at three quarter pace. She worked in company with fellow Arrowfield graduate Charge Forward/Love Is Fickle and we were pleased with how the pair focused on the job at hand down the straight. We look forward to developing both two-year olds over the coming weeks, they certainly have a bright future ahead of them

Yearlings Hinchinbrook/Follow That Cat, Missouri Waltz (Hinchinbrook/Tetsuko) and If I Can I Will (I Am Invincible/Crystal Wand) completed a steady piece of pacework over 400 metres this morning. The trio built into a lovely half pace tempo and worked down the straight in a professional fashion, pleasing each of their riders. These yearlings are showing signs of being early types, and we look forward to seeing how much they grow over the next few weeks.
