Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing

Trackwork Tuesday 4th May 2021

Wenet (American Pharoah/Whitula) is working well and this morning she galloped solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Tim Clark, she clocked 11.8 seconds over the final 200 metres and Tim said, "She was terrific today. She was a bit keen early, but she then built into it nicely from the home turn to hit the line with gusto." We are delighted with this filly, and she has improved again since last week's second trial. She’s on course to make her debut in either the 2-Year-Old Maiden Plate over 1100 metres at Wyong on 13th May or the 2-Year-Old Maiden Plate over 1000 metres at Kembla on 15th May, and we think she'll be tough to beat wherever she ends up.

Regal Stage (Redoute's Choice/Estelle Collection) is thriving and this morning he galloped over 1000 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Nelspruit (Zoustar/Too Discreet). Ridden by work rider Deepu Shanker, he clocked 11.3 seconds over the final 200 metres and Deepu said, "That was lovely work. He travelled strongly for me and hit the line well." We couldn't be more delighted with this gelding and he's come out of last week's course proper jumpout in terrific order. He's on target to trial shortly and we can't wait to see him back up and racing.

Mr Dependable (Reliable Man/La Grande Dame) couldn't be happier and this morning he galloped solo over 1000 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Tim Clark, he clocked 13 seconds over the final 200 metres and Tim said, "He was quite strong early but he still maintained a good effort to the line and he’s certainly feeling well within himself." We are very pleased with him and he's come out of his last start win in terrific order. He's still on target for the $200,000 Listed Scone Cup over 1600 metres at Scone on 14th May and we think he goes there with a live winning chance.
