Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing

Trackwork Tuesday 29th June 2021

Riodini (Proisir/Giardini) is thriving and this morning he galloped solo over 1000 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Swan Holzritter, he clocked 12.6 seconds over the final 200 metres and Swan said, "He was brilliant today. He bowled along comfortably and showed a good attitude to stretch out willingly to the line." This gelding continues to please us, and he's come through last week's second trial in wonderful order. He's still on target for the $150,000 Listed Winter Stakes over 1400 metres at Randwick on 10th July, and we can't wait to see this talented individual back at the races.

Princess Amira (Written Tycoon/Princess Layla) has been in training for eight weeks and this morning she galloped over 800 metres on the steeple grass alongside stablemate Emerald Bay (Not A Single Doubt/Drinks All Round). Ridden by work rider Kayleigh Chevin, he clocked 11.5 seconds over the final 200 metres and Kayleigh said, "She was brilliant today and she has a terrific attitude, I can’t fault her.” We are very happy with her and she’s become even more switched on and focused since Friday’s course proper jumpout which is just what we wanted to see. She's on target to trial next week and we look forward to seeing her back on the track.

Taikomochi (Snitzel/Geisha) has been in training for six weeks and this morning he galloped solo over 1000 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Will Lee, he clocked 13.4 seconds over the final 200 metres and Will said, "He was good today, and he did everything right to the line. He had a decent blow on pulling up." We are pleased with his progress, and he's taken this step up to full pace work nicely in his stride. He’s still very soft in condition so we didn’t ask too much of him today, but it was great to see him going a bit faster and he absolutely loves his work, so he was thrilled too.
