American Import and Dark Jewel Classic Winner, Con Te Partiro (Scat Daddy/Temple Street) put in an eye-catching gallop this morning over 1200 metres (6 furlongs) on the course proper with regular rider Alana Pearson in the irons. The mare got into a beautiful rhythm early and finished off her gallop strongly to stop the clock at 11.2 seconds for her final furlong. Alana who has partnered the mare in every gallop commented, “She was fantastic this morning, it was her best work yet.” Con Te Partiro will depart for Queensland this week to contest either the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap or the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes on Saturday June 9th at Doomben.

Last start winner Ausfighter (Fighting Sun/Ausvall) put in a sharp gallop this morning over 1200 metres (6 furlongs) with jockey Adam Hyeronimus in the saddle. The gelding looked very professional and effortless in his work as he travelled down the straight strongly covering his final furlong in 11.9 seconds. Adam was delighted with the gallop and commented, “He has come through his run in superb order, he was nice and strong and gave me a great feel when I asked him to quicken down the straight.” We couldn’t be happier with Ausfighter and if he continues to please us over the next couple of days he will back up in the Class 1 Handicap at Kembla Grange on June 1st.

Japanese Import Hush Writer (Rulership/Star Of Sapphire) earned senior rider Steve O’Halloran’s ‘Best of the Morning’call when he bowled over 1200 metres (6 furlongs) this morning. The gelding looked fabulous in his work as he stretched his legs over the course proper under a strong hold. Steve was full of praise for him and commented, “This horse keeps getting better, his work this morning is just what I wanted to see leading into Saturday.” Hush Writer is right on track to have his first start back this preparation in the Listed W J Mckell Cup over 2400 metres on Saturday June 1st at Rosehill Gardens. Starting first up in a mile and a half race is very rarely done in Australia. Gai is the only person who dares to do it, as she did with Goodwood Zodiac, who won first up over two miles.
