Trackwork Tuesday 20 August 2019
Faretti (I Am Invincible/Tai Tai Tess) Faretti has come through his most impressive trial in tremendous order and this morning, he was an absolute pleasure to watch as he glided over 1000 metres on the Kensington track. He worked in company with stablemate Regal Stage (Redoute's Choice/Estelle Collection) and the pair built into their gallop beautifully, quickening down the straight to stop the clock at 11.7 seconds for the final furlong. Senior rider Steve O'Halloran was in the saddle and commented, "He feels great. He just kept improving the whole way and he did his best work late. He feels as good as he ever has." Faretti's effort earned Steve's 'Best of the Morning' honours and he certainly caught our attention as he travelled effortlessly around the Kensington track. He is on track to have a second trial here at Randwick next week.

Apicius (Redoute's Choice/Vanilla Princess) earned jockey Tim Clark's 'Best of the Morning' honours in her gallop over 1000 metres on the grass. The filly worked in company with stablemate Duchess Marizza (Deep Field/Princess Marizza) and the pair of fillies bowled around the track stride for stride showing a sharp turn of foot to stop the clock at 11.0 seconds for the final furlong. Tim made the comment, "That was excellent, she is a lovely, strong filly and she hit the line very well today. She gave me a great feeling." Apicius is coming up a treat this preparation and we can't wait to get her back to the races. She is pencilled in for another trial here at Randwick next week which should top her fitness off nicely as she nears her return to the races.

Gaelic (Trusting/Irish Darling) caught the attention of jockey Adam Hyeronimus in his gallop over 1000 metres, who commented, "He is a nice horse this fellow, he needs to learn a few things still but he has ability. I was very happy with how he hit the line today." Gaelic's effort earned his jockey's 'Best of the Morning' call. The gelding is still learning his trade but once he puts all the pieces of the puzzle together he will make a very handy horse . Gaelic will have a second trial at Randwick next week as she edges closer to his race debut.
