Trackwork Tuesday 19 March 2019
Japanese import Hush Writer (Rulership/Star Of Sapphire) commenced his pacework over 800 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The gelding worked over the track pleasantly and pulled up having a small blow after he covered the final furlong in 15.2 seconds. He is still soft in condition at this early stage so we will work to build up his base fitness over the coming weeks.
Sydney Blue (Sebring/Dane Belltar) has come through his first run of the preparation very nicely. This morning, the colt bowled over 1200 metres stylishly, quickening down the straight to stop the clock at 11.5 seconds for the final furlong. Although his first up run was a bit disappointing, the colt will only improve with the added fitness as he steps up in distance next time out.
Our 2YO filly, More Than Ready/Friendly Seas is steadily improving with each gallop and this morning, she showed nice improvement in her gallop over 600 metres at three quarter pace. The filly bowled over the track with her usual lovely action and stopped the clock at 14.7 seconds for the final furlong. More Than Ready/Friendly Seas is taking shape very nicely for us this preparation and we look forward to getting her a name once she is fully sold and ready to trial in the coming weeks - More Information
Recent Group 2 Todman Stakes runner up, Bellevue Hill (Pierro/Bellevue Girl) was all smiles in his gallop over 600 metres on the Course Proper this morning. Jockey Tim Clark was elated with the effort and commented, “That was a wonderful work, he just continues to improve with every gallop. I couldn’t be happier with him.” Bellevue Hill is flying at present, he is currently sitting as 3rd emergency in the Golden Slipper and we have our fingers and toes crossed that he gets a run on Saturday.
