Trackwork Tuesday 16 July 2019
This morning, we had the opportunity of using the Canterbury Course Proper to gallop on so we utilized it with Stellar Impact (Deep Impact/Topliner). Galloping our horses on a superior surface is something that we have had great success with over the years, as it allows them to have a more serious piece of work which really brings their fitness on. The Japanese Import was all business in her gallop over 1200 metres in company with stablemate Miss Anabanana (Redoute's Choice/Anabarbarian). Jockey Rachel King, who partnered her commented, "She was excellent today, she let down really nicely and was still going after we passed the post. I was very happy with that." Stellar Impact is ticking all the boxes at this stage of her preparation and we couldn't be happier with what we saw this morning. W

Evening Slippers (Snitzel/Flidais) has done nothing but improve since stepping up to full paced work and this morning, she put in a stylish gallop over 800 metres on the polytrack. Senior rider Alana Pearson, who was in the saddle commented, "She felt great this morning, she was nice and relaxed in the early stages of her gallop and when I let her quicken the last furlong she really opened up her stride and ran through the line. She felt really strong and had a little blow so she will improve from it." Evening Slippers seems to be enjoying her work out on the track at present and we look forwad to getting her back to the races this preparation.

Spice Isle (Hinchinbrook/Grenada) has come through her trial in great order and this morning, she put in a sharp gallop over 1000 metres in company with stablemate Foxy Free (Foxwedge/Enciamo). The pair bowled over the track in a competitive fashion and quickened nicely down the straight to stop the clock at 11.5 seconds for the final furlong. Jockey Sam Clipperton, who partnered her commented, "She worked really well this morning, she is an honest horse and she is going places." Spice Isle is doing a fabulous job this preparation and she is on track to head to the races now.
