Trackwork Tuesday 15th September

Shakespear’sgalley (Galileo/Lady Shakespeare) has been in training for eight weeks and this morning he galloped over 1000 metres on the steeple grass alongside stablemate Yellowstone (Pierro/Montana Sunset). Ridden by apprentice Stacey Metcalfe, he clocked 11.8 seconds over the final 200 metres and Stacey said, "He was very good today. He settled nicely, travelled strongly for me and he worked to the line well." We are very pleased with this horse’s progress and he's handled this step up to full pace work nicely in his stride. His fitness will improve hand over fist now that he's doing fast work and we look forward to his return to the trials in the near future.

Yao Dash (Smart Missile/Rahy Storm) has been in training for eight weeks and this morning he galloped solo over 1000 metres on the B grass. Ridden by jockey Tim Clark, he clocked 11.8 seconds over the final 200 metres and Tim said, "He was nice and relaxed, and he hit the line strongly." This gelding continues to delight us and he’s coming up well at this stage of his preparation. His fitness is coming along, and he’s on target to trial in the next 2 weeks.

Elveena (Hinchinbrook/Elwaaryaa) is working well and this morning she galloped over 1000 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Alumna (Shooting To Win/Mysterious Light). Ridden by jockey Bobby El-Issa, she clocked 11.2 seconds over the final 200 metres and Bobby said, "That was beautiful work and she’s really starting to learn what to do when she comes off the bridle.” This filly continues to please us, and she’s taken great benefit from her first up run. She’s learned a lot from the experience, and we couldn’t be happier with the way in which she’s progressing. We’ve nominated her for the Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate over 1100 metres at Wyong on 22nd September, and she also has the option of the Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap over 1200 metres at Bathurst on 27th September. We expect her to be very competitive wherever she turns up.
