Trackwork Tuesday 11 June 2019
Social Element (Savabeel/Pare) made a fan out of jockey Josh Parr in his gallop over 1200 metres this morning. The gelding worked over the track strongly, letting down and finding the finish competitively to stop the clock at 13.1 seconds for the final furlong. He pulled up well following the effort, indicating that he has very good fitness at this stage. We couldn’t be happier with Social Element, he is ticking every box and he is ready and raring to get back to the races here in Sydney.

Hush Writer (Rulership/Star Of Sapphire) got the tick over his stablemate in his gallop over 1200 metres this morning. The gelding has come through his first up win in exceptional order, and senior rider Steve O’Halloran made the comment, “He feels fantastic, I was happy with that.” Hush Writer couldn’t have pleased us more when winning the WJ Mckell Cup first up, he certainly has a bright future ahead of him.

Dawn Passage (Dawn Approach/Raja Lane) continues to improve each time he steps on the track. This morning, the colt put in a stylish gallop over 800 metres at three quarter pace. Work rider Bastian Neuhaus partnered the colt and commented, “He is coming up really well, I couldn’t fault him this morning.” Dawn Passage is steadily gaining fitness and muscle tone, so we will look to intensify his regime over the next fortnight and we look forward to seeing him continue to shape up this time in.

Shuhood (I Am Invincible/Shahad) earned ‘Best of the Morning’ honours from senior rider Steve O’Halloran in her gallop over 600 metres this morning. The filly bounded over the track with a fluid action, quickening down the straight to cover the final furlong in 11.7 seconds and Steve commented, “She has really improved following her trial, that was excellent work.” We are pleased with how Shuhood has come through her most recent trial and we look forward to getting her back to the races this time in.
