Trackwork Tuesday 09 April 2019
Single Blonde (Not A Single Doubt/Regrowth) put in a stylish gallop over 600 metres on the Kensington track this morning. The filly worked in company with Shuwaamekh (Snitzel/Shamekha) and the pair worked strongly down the straight to find the line nose to nose and stop the clock at 12.9 seconds for the final furlong. Single Blonde is coming up very nicely for us this preparation and we are pleased with how she is putting her best foot forward as she edges closer to her first start this time in.
Kooza (High Chaparral/Cirque Du Soleil) earned ‘Best of the Morning’ honours from jockey Sam Clipperton in his gallop over 1200 metres this morning. The gelding has come through his first trial of the preparation in fine order, which showed as he worked down the straight in a competitive fashion to stop the clock at 12.5 seconds for the final furlong. We are pleased with how Kooza is taking shape for us this preparation, and we will continue tapping away at him over the coming weeks.
Rockin’ Ruga (Fastnet Rock/Sevruga) has gone on in leaps and bounds following his two trials this time in. The gelding was full of running in his gallop over 1000 metres and jockey Tim Clark made the comment, “He gave me a nice, strong feel throughout the effort, he has really improved over the past few weeks.” Rockin’ Ruga had a bit of time off the scene, so he needed the trials for fitness and he is right on track to get back to the races in a few weeks’ time.
