Trackwork Tuesday 06 August 2019

Dawn Passage (Dawn Approach/Raja Lane) could have not been any more impressive when putting in his final gallop in preparation for his return to the races in the Listed Rosebud over 1100 metres at Rosehill this Saturday. Senior rider Steve O'Halloran was absolutely taken by the colt and gave him the most glowing report.

Vienna Rain (Manhattan Rain/Vienna Lady)  added yet another 'Best of the Morning' honours to his tally in his gallop over 1000 metres this morning with jockey Glen Boss in the irons. The colt worked in company with stablemate Cosmic King (Animal Kingdom/Cosmic Belle) and the well matched pair were all business as they bowled over the track head to head and let down nicely to stop the clock at 12.9 seconds for the final furlong. Glen made the comment, "That was such easy work for him today, it was almost like a canter. He gives you a very nice feel this fellow, I was impressed with him and he was my 'Best of the Morning'." Vienna Rain is pencilled  in to trial here at Randwick next week.

Fiery Red (Pierro/Blazing Snitzel) has come through his second trial in great order and this morning, he galloped over 1000 metres on the grass with jockey Tim Clark in the saddle. He worked in company with stablemate and talented galloper, Faretti (I Am Invincible/Tai Tai Tess) and the lovely  pair looked phenomenal as they stretched their legs down the straight clocking a sharp 11.5 seconds for the final furlong. Tim made the comment, "He worked really well, the trials have sharpened him up and he is ready to head to the races now." Fiery Red is right on track to contest the 3 Year Old Maiden Plate over 900 metres at Newcastle on August 15th.

Aegis (Smart Missile/Lady Fleming) is doing a great job this preparation and this morning, he caught the attention of jockey Sam Clipperton who commented, "It was really nice work from him this morning. He is in great order and feels very fit. I was very happy with that." Aegis has come a very long way this preparation and he has done nothing but improve since stepping up to full paced gallops. He is not far off a trial now so we will continue fine tuning his fitness over the next couple of weeks.
