Trackwork Thursday 4 April 2019

Last Saturday's Group 3 winner Taikomochi (Snitzel/Geisha) has come through his run better than ever and this morning, the gelding was full of running in his gallop over 1200 metres with jockey James Innes Junior in the irons. He bowled over the track with a smile on his face, maintaining a steady rhythm down the straight to stop the clock 13.9 seconds for the final furlong. James made the comment, “The gelding feels very well, he was squealing and full of energy. I couldn’t fault the work.” Taikomochi is ticking every box following his first Black-Type win, he is thumping his chest and he is right on track to get back to the races at Randwick on the 20th of April for the Group 3 JRA Plate.

Undefeated Japanese import Wolfe (Novellist/Peace Of World) has taken shape very nicely for us this preparation. The gelding pleased jockey Sam Clipperton in his gallop over 1200 metres this morning. He worked over the track with his ears pricked and picked up nicely to the finish to stop the clock at 11.3 seconds for the final furlong. Sam commented, “The gelding build into it really nicely today, that was well done.” Wolfe is right on track to get back to the races in the next few weeks.

Group 2 winner Sedanzer (Sebring/Voltdanze) continues to improve through her preparation and this morning, the mare earned 'Best of the Morning' honours from jockey James Innes Junior in her gallop over 1200 metres. She worked over the track in a willing fashion and quickened down the straight to stop the clock at 12.8 seconds for the final furlong. We know Sedanzer needed a couple of runs to get fully fit, and we couldn't be happier with how she is taking shape heading into her next assignment, the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1600 metres at Randwick on Saturday 13th April.
