Vancouver/Never Forget ’17 caught the attention of senior rider Ed Fiddes in his gallop over 400 metres (2 furlongs) at half pace this morning. Ed commented, "He was excellent working in company with a stablemate this morning. His partner was a bit nervous, but my colt just bowled along in a professional manner and picked up to travel at half pace with ease. He seems to be really switched on in his work, he's always attentive to commands and striving to please his rider, he feels like an early type." Vancouver/Never Forget '17 is doing everything right at this early stage and we couldn't be happier with how he worked this morning. The colt is ticking all the boxes at this early stage and he will only improve with added experience moving forward.

Another yearling that put in an eye-catching piece of work this morning was I Am Invincible/Streama ’17, who worked in company with Sebring/Rebound ’17. Senior rider Steve O’Halloran was aboard for the effort and commented, "This is a lovely, sensible colt and was a straightforward ride this morning. He picked up easily when asked, travelling in a professional manner down the straight and giving me a good feel throughout. He was very willing, he just rolled up his sleeves and got on with the job and I couldn't fault him this morning." The colt’s effort earned 'Best of the Morning' honors from Steve and we couldn't be happier with how this colt is taking everything in his stride this preparation.

Couru (All Too Hard/Pas De Deux) put in a pleasing gallop this morning bowling over 1000 metres (5 furlongs) with jockey Sam Clipperton in the irons. The filly worked over the track nicely and finished off her gallop strongly to stop the clock at 12.2 seconds for her final furlong. Sam was delighted with her work and commented, "She did everything right today, she gave me a strong feel down the straight and feels in great order. I was happy with that effort." Couru is on track to have her first trial back this preparation in approximately 10-14 days' time.
A filly with the most interesting name is the Shooting To Win two-year-old out of Tapanappa, Hairbursh.

Bred by Fred Pisah of Lomar Park, this filly is related to handy mare Pandenonium. A group of us came together to race her and the managing part-owner suggested the name. At first, we were all scratching our heads, but the more I see her and I hear it said, I must admit it has grown on me. Hairbrush is definitely a filly worthy of your black book.

Fast Melody (Sebring/Sweetest Melody) caught the attention Sam Clipperton this morning in his gallop over 600 metres (3 furlongs). This big leggy son of Sebring was bred at Gooree Park and has all the traits of what I look for in a good horse. It won’t be long until he will be gracing the track.

The Deep Field/Ubiquity ‘16 is one of the loveliest fillies in training and someone close to the stable is about to take her up and race her with his family. He won’t go wrong as she is talented through to her tippy toes.

When the progeny of Deep Field were first sold, I invested heavily knowing that he was a great competitive racehorse and I felt confident that he would transmit this to his progeny. Of the two-year-olds and yearlings we are training, most of them have shown well above ability and the Deep Filed/Disclosure '16 is a big strong individual with a stack of talent. Keep an eye out for his debut.
