Trackwork Thursday 28 March 2019
Charged Flame (Charge Forward/Femme Liberte) has come through her first start in exceptional form and this morning, the mare put her best foot forward in her gallop over 1000 metres with senior work rider Alana Pearson in the irons. She bowled over the track in a relaxed fashion and maintained a good rhythm down the straight to stop the clock at 14.0 seconds for the final furlong. The mare has taken benefit from the added race day fitness, which will aid her improvement in her next start.
Maggie Miss (Medaglia d’Oro/Rekindled Glory) put in a pleasing gallop over 1000 metres this morning. The filly is still gaining fitness at this stage, but she covered the track with a nice action and willingly quickened down the straight to cover the final furlong in 11.9 seconds. Maggie Miss will only become sharper as she tightens up and gains strength, so we look forward to seeing her improvement over the coming weeks.
Nicola (Charge Forward/Walkway) has come through her trial very nicely, which showed in her gallop over 600 metres this morning. The filly earned ‘Best of the Morning’ honours from apprentice Louise Day after she showed a nice turn of foot to cover the final furlong in 12.0 seconds. She was a bit green in her last trial, but the effort has brought her on very nicely and we expect to see her improve next time out.
Real Saga/Gentle Spirit continues to impress out on the track and this morning, the filly was all business in her gallop over 600 metres and she quickened nicely down the straight to cover the final furlong in 12.4 seconds. She worked very well in company with Dazzling Damsel (Not A Single Doubt/Tingirana), and we couldn’t be happier with how these fillies are progressing through their preparation.
