Trackwork Thursday 27 June 2019
It's one of our favourite parts of the year with all the babies coming through the gates of Tulloch Lodge for their first couple of educational preparations. This morning, we had some lovely groups of yearlings doing some pace work, including the Snitzel/Miss Match '17 colt and the son of Zoustar, For Valor (Zoustar/Miss Valour) who made the step up to three quarter pace. It looks like we have two very nice, forward colts in our hands here.
Another nice group of yearlings, who did a bit of pace work this morning stretching their legs over 400 metres at half pace, was the Spirit Of Boom/Deb's Choice '17 colt, the Fighting Sun/Gina Lollawitcha '17 colt and the daughter of Zoustar, Loose Buttons (Zoustar/Sunday Rose).
Well Known (Deep Filed/Disclosure) has come through his trial in great order which showed in his gallop over 800 metres this morning. The gelding built into his work nicely and was able to finish off strongly stopping the clock at 12.5 seconds for the final furlong. Jockey Rachel King, who was aboard for the effort commented, " He was lovely this morning, he crossed the line strongly and felt great in his action. He can do a bit more with a partner next time." Well Known seems to be really enjoying his work at present and he is on track to have a second trial in a week to ten days' time.
