Trackwork Thursday 26th September 2019
It was quieter than usual this morning on the gallops a lot of our horses prepare for their big engagements on Saturday. Nonetheless, plenty of stable favourites and exciting prospects were out stretching their legs.
Last start winner Hush Writer (Rulership/Star Of Sapphire) (pictured below) put in a lovely gallop over 1200 metres. Ridden by senior work rider Steve O’Halloran, he clocked 12.9 seconds in his final 200 metres and looked to be doing everything very easily. He is full of enthusiasm after his victory and we can’t wait to see what he does next. All going well he will line up in the Group 1 Metropolitan at Randwick on 5th October and we can’t wait.

Another last start winner who was out stretching his legs this morning, Regal Stage (Redoute’s Choice/Estelle Collection). He galloped over 1000 metres on the B grass with senior work rider Steve O’Halloran in the saddle. He clocked a speedy 11.1 seconds in his final 200 metres and left us all very impressed with how well he has come out of his win at Kembla Grange. He is penciled in to return to the track at Kensington next week and we are looking forward to seeing him perform.
Vienna Rain (Manhattan Rain/Vienna Lady) (pictured below) looked in excellent order when bowling over 1000 metres on the polytrack under jockey Blake Spriggs. He clocked an impressive 11.8 seconds in the final 200 metres and he is a colt who is clearly feeling very well within himself. He has improved a lot both mentally and physically for his highly promising debut performance, where he overcame plenty of disadvantages to finish a close third. He has a few upcoming race options and he should be very difficult to beat wherever he turns up.
