Trackwork Thursday 22 November 2018
Cabeza De Vaca (Northern Meteor/Dirty) bowled over 1000 metres alongside stablemate Chess Star (Fighting Sun/Social Glow) this morning. The gelding relaxed in to the gallop early and showed a fantastic turn of foot down the straight to stop the clock at 11.0 seconds. He pulled up having a small blow, which indicates that he got something out of the effort. The faster paced work will bring his fitness to the next level and we are pleased with his improvement this time in.
Taikomochi (Snitzel/Geisha) has steadily improved since his arrival at the stable and this morning, he commenced his pacework. The gelding put in a lovely gallop over 1000 metres at three quarter pace with apprentice Quayde Krogh in the irons. He showed exemplary focus as he galloped in a lovely rhythm down the straight to stop the clock at 13.6 seconds for the final furlong. The slower paced work will build Taikomochi up beautifully over the coming days, he is thriving in his work at present and he looks a treat.
Call Me Royal (Sebring/Royal Chalee) put in a lovely gallop over 1000 metres at three quarter pace this morning. With jockey Winona Costin in the irons, the filly galloped over the track with a good action and stopped the clock at 12.9 seconds for the final furlong. Pleased with the effort, Winona commented, "The filly was my best this morning. She galloped in a nice rhythm and did everything right. I was happy with that." Call Me Royal has settled back in to the Tulloch Lodge routine like a seasoned professional and we will develop her slowly over the coming weeks.
Zemdegs (Rubick/Balloons) put in a pleasing gallop over 600 metres this morning. The gelding had no qualms with the faster paced work and happily quickened down the straight to stop the clock at 12.5 seconds for the final furlong. He stepped up very nicely today and Steve O'Halloran commented, "The gelding was on the bit and seems quite forward. That was a very good work." We will continue tapping away at Zemdeg's fitness over the coming days.
