Trackwork Thursday 11 October 2018
Just A Joke (High Chaparral/Fiction) has come through his trial very nicely and this morning the gelding bowled over 1200 metres with jockey Rory Hutchings in the irons. He showed a good turn of foot down the straight to stop the clock at 11.3 seconds for the final furlong with Rory commenting "He is feeling very well in himself. That was great work." We are pleased with how Just A Joke has improved through since his trial and it won't be long before you see this staying type back at the races.
Maid Marilyn (Stratum/Longlea) bowled over 1000 metres this morning with jockey Rachel King in the irons. The mare gained good fitness from her trial, which showed as she galloped over the final furlong in 11.3 seconds. Rachel commented, "She feels much stronger now. That was great work." We look forward to getting her back to the trials and on to the races in the coming weeks.
Frenzied (Americain/Paris Tryst) stepped right up to full paced work this morning. The gelding bowled over 1000 metres alongside stablemate Britzel (Snitzel/Brandish), and the pair covered the final 200 metres in 11.9 seconds. Frenzied pulled up having a small blow afterwards which is only to be expected at this early stage but the gelding with build on his condition and fitness over the coming weeks with some swimming and High Performance Treadmill gallops.
Not A Single Doubt/Regrowth looked happy and bright in her gallop over 600 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The filly bowled down the straight in a lovely rhythm and stopped the clock at 14.5 seconds for the final furlong. Jockey Rory Hutchings was aboard for the effort and commented, "She is still learning her trade but was very willing in her gallop. I was happy with that."
