Trackwork Monday 29 April 2019
Bandol (Snitzel/Miss Match) put her best foot forward in her gallop over 1200 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The filly’s fitness has improved nicely over the past few weeks, which showed as she maintained one steady pace from start to finish and pulled up well after she covered the final furlong in 14.5 seconds. She will certainly improve as we begin to intensify her regime and we look forward to seeing her back at the trials in the next few weeks.
The Art Of The Bar (Charge Forward/Personification) is ticking every box at this early stage in her preparation. This morning, the filly galloped over 800 metres at three quarter pace in company with stablemate Tepario (Pierro/Demanding Miss) and the pair worked to the finish in a steady rhythm to stop the clock at 13.6 seconds for the final furlong. The Art Of The Bar is still soft at this time, so we will bring her along slowly over the coming weeks with some slower paced trackwork, swimming and High Performance Treadmill gallops.
Lucand Lad (Squamosa/Lucand Star) continues to improve each time he steps onto the track. The gelding has really matured this preparation and this morning jockey Rachel King commented, “He is still soft, but he’s doing everything right and feels very well in himself. I was happy with that.” We couldn’t be happier with how Lucand Lad is relaxing into his work this preparation and we will look to step him up to full paced work over the next two weeks.
