Trackwork Monday 27 May 2019
Two year old Group 3 winner and Group 2 placed stable star Vinicunca (I Am Invincible/Xandretta) arrived at Tulloch Lodge in great order last week and this morning she stretched her legs over 600 metres (3 furlongs) at three quarter pace. Senior rider Steve O’Halloran, who was aboard for today’s effort commented, “She has come back in a much stronger and bigger filly, she felt super this morning.” The daughter of I Am Invincible looks an absolute treat and we are excited to see her add some more valuable Black Type to her resume over the Spring. She is a filly with a lot of ability and she will no doubt make an even better three-year-old.
Prospero (Pierro/Nova Star) put in a sharp piece of work this morning over 1000 metres with rider Bastian Neuhaus in the saddle. The gelding got into a good rhythm early and worked nicely down the straight to stop the clock at 11.2 seconds for his final furlong. Prospero continues to improve with each piece on work under his belt as he edges closer to his first trial this preparation.
Maybach (More Than Ready/Purespeed) was all business in his gallop this morning when he bowled over 1000 metres (5 furlongs) covering his final furlong in 13.2 seconds. Senior rider Steve O’Halloran, who was riding the gelding this morning, commented, “His work was very good , he was focused on the task at hand and gave me a good feel travelling down the straight.” Maybach is ticking all the boxes this time in as we continue to build up his fitness levels.
