Trackwork Monday 25 February 2019

Star Witness’ ½ brother Embracer (Sebring/Leone Chiara) has really switched on this preparation. This morning, the colt put in a lovely gallop over 1000 metres at three quarter pace with work rider Alana Pearson in the irons, showing exemplary focus down the straight to stop the clock at 14.5 seconds for the final furlong. As his breeding suggests, Embracer is a lovely colt with good potential and he will only improve as we intensify his regime over the coming weeks.

Stable favourite Ready To Prophet (Smart Missile/Ready To Live) has returned to the stable looking an absolute picture. The filly commenced her pacework over 800 metres at three quarter pace with work rider Vanessa Grant in the irons this morning. She bowled around in a relaxed fashion throughout the effort and maintained a steady rhythm down the straight to cover the final furlong in 14.5 seconds. We have a high opinion of this Group 2 performer and we look forward to building up her fitness over the coming weeks.

Skymist (Lonhro/Daytime) has returned to the stable a happy, healthy filly and this morning, she commenced her pacework. The filly bowled over 600 metres at three quarter pace alongside stablemate Jasmine Wind (Sebring/Muscovado) and maintained a nice rhythm from start to finish, covering the final furlong in 13.7 seconds. Skymist is still soft at this early stage, so we will expand her base fitness over the coming weeks before we intensify her regime.

Rockin' Ruga (Fastnet Rock/Sevruga) was all smiles in his gallop over 800 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The gelding was ready to get on with the job and showed great focus as he bowled over the track in a steady fashion. He pulled up having a small blow after he covered the final furlong in 14.9 seconds, which indicates that his fitness will improve on from the effort. Rockin' Ruga is a happy horse and we are pleased with how he is taking everything in his stride this time in.
