Trackwork Monday 18 March 2019
Thunder Pace (I Am Invincible/Moonlight Music) has returned to the stable looking an absolute picture and this morning, the colt commenced his pacework over 800 metres at three quarter pace, maintaining a nice rhythm from start to finish and stopping the clock at 13.4 seconds for the final furlong. Thunder Pace has settled back into the routine here at Tulloch Lodge a treat and we look forward to developing him over the coming weeks.
Chief Geronimo (More Than Ready/The Warrior Woman) and Cymbalic (Lonhro/Cymbal) got right back into the swing of things with a gallop over 600 metres at three quarter pace this morning. Apprentice Quayde Krogh was aboard Chief Geronimo and made the comment, “He has returned to the stable much stronger,” and jockey Winona Costin rode Cymbalic reporting, “The colt was lovely and did everything right.” The best is still to come from these two-year olds, but we couldn’t be happier with how they’ve returned to the stable.
Lovely Pierro gelding Castel Sant’Angelo (Pierro/Lucky Angel) has settled into the routine a treat over the past 10 days. He worked over the track in a pleasing fashion and pulled up having a small blow after he covered the final furlong in 14.2 seconds. Apprentice Quayde Krogh commented, “The gelding bowled along in a nice rhythm, he is steadily improving.” We are pleased with Castel Sant’Angelo at present, he is a lovely staying type in the making and he is one to follow this preparation.
Ausfighter (Figthing Sun/Ausvall) will be ready to step up to full paced work over the next 10 days and this morning, he bowled over 1200 metres at three quarter pace with ease and pulled up well following the effort. We are pleased with how he has tightened up since his arrival at the stable and we expect to see further improvement as we intensify his regime over the coming weeks.
Our European import, Knight Errant (So You Think/Lamanka Lass) has returned to the stable in terrific order and this morning he cruised steadily over 1000 metres at three quarter pace alongside his stablemate. The pair stopped the clock at 14.9 seconds for their final furlong with his rider commenting, "That was nice work. He was on the right leg throughout and did everything asked of him." It is still early days for this three year old but he has certainly settled into the routine here with ease.
