Trackwork Monday 18 February 2018
Let Me Sleep On It (Manhattan Rain/Cheyenne Sue) put in a very strong work over 1000 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The filly impressed apprentice Quayde Krogh, who commented, "She was strong the whole way around, that was very good work." She is still gaining fitness at this early stage, so we have implemented plenty of swimming into her regime to help bring her along. Let Me Sleep On It will only improve over the coming weeks and we will slowly intensify her regime as she gains strength.
Kooza (High Chaparral/Cirque Du Soleil) commenced his pacework over 1000 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The gelding bowled over the track in a relaxed fashion and maintained a steady rhythm down the straight to stop the clock at 13.8 seconds for the final furlong. He pulled up having a small blow, which is only to be expected at this early stage and we look forward to building him up over the coming weeks.
Foxy Free (Foxwedge/Enciamo) pleased jockey Brett Prebble in her gallop over 600 metres at three quarter pace this morning. She was a total professional throughout the effort and bowled down the straight in a pleasing fashion to stop the clock at 12.9 seconds for the final furlong. Brett commented, "The filly was very happy in her herself and she was competitive to the finish. I was happy with that." We are really pleased with how Foxy Free is coming up this preparation, with the best still to come as we intensify her regime.
Vienna Rain (Manhattan Rain/Vienna Lady) has returned to the stable looking very well in himself and this morning, he commenced his pacework over 600 metres at three quarter pace. The colt is still quite soft in condition, but he was focused in his work and bowled over the final furlong in a steady 14.7 seconds. Vienna Rain is a lovely type that will certainly improve with additional experience and fitness over the coming weeks.
