Trackwork Monday 15 April 2019
Bandol (Snitzel/Miss Match) kicked her preparation off with a gallop over 800 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The filly worked over the track in a good rhythm and maintained nice focus through the finish to stop the clock at 15.5 seconds for the final furlong. Although she is still soft at this early stage, she is willing in her work and we will build her up slowly over the coming weeks to ensure that she gains a strong base fitness before we intensify her regime.
Lochita (Lonhro/Inchita) continues to put her best foot forward out on the track and this morning, she earned ‘Best of the Morning’ from jockey Winona Costin in her gallop over 800 metres at three quarter pace. Winona commented, “The filly gave me a nice, steady feel throughout. That was well done.” We have added in some High Performance Treadmill gallops into this filly’s regime to help bring her fitness and strength along over the coming weeks and we are pleased with how she has returned to work this time in.
Olympic Glory/Ballet Blue and Deep Field/Disclosure put in their first serious piece of work over 600 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The pair bowled over the track in a professional fashion, crossing the finish nose to nose to stop the clock at 14.6 seconds for the final furlong. Both geldings are soft at this time, but we expect to see them improve markedly over the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing their progress.
