Trackwork Monday 11th January 2021
Gleeson (Tavistock/Fastnet Rockette) has been in training for four weeks and this morning he galloped over 1000 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate George Hercules (Vancouver/Euryale). Ridden by work rider Raj Kumar, he clocked 12.8 seconds over the final 200 metres and Raj said, "He was good today and he was competitive with his partner to the line. He had a good blow on pulling up." We are pleased with this gelding's progress and he's taken this step up to full pace work nicely in his stride. His fitness will improve hand over fist now that he's doing fast work, and he's going the right way.
She’s Soo Good (Sooboog/Truly Kissed) has settled back in well to her surroundings at Tulloch Lodge and she spent her first week gently trotting and cantering on the track. This morning she completed three quarter pacework over 600 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Jervis Bay (Written Tycoon/Gold Anthem). Ridden by work rider Jordan Riley, she clocked 14.7 seconds over the final 200 metres and Jordan said, "That was a lovely piece of work and she has come back from her spell in good form." It's only the beginning stages of her preparation, but we are delighted with her. She's returned to us in lovely shape, and she appears to have taken great benefit from her spell. We will continue to bring her along gently before gradually increasing the tempo of her gallops.
Marcassin (Spirit Of Boom/Deb's Choice) has been in training for four weeks and this morning he completed three quarter pacework solo over 1000 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Lauren De Arias Huep, he clocked 14.5 seconds over the final 200 metres and Lauren said, "He travelled nicely for me and he was comfortable to the line." He continues to delight us and we're very pleased with the improvement he's showing week on week. He's toning up well and he's starting to take shape ahead of a step up to full pace work.
