Leningrad (Snitzel/Loveday) stepped up to full paced work beautifully this morning. The gelding bowled over 1200 metres solo with jockey Adam Hyeronimus aboard and covered the final furlong in 13.6 seconds. Adam commented, "He has come back very well and gave me a great feel this morning. I was happy with that." The gelding pulled up having a small blow and recovered quickly. We will tap away at his fitness over the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing him at the trials soon.
2YO full sister to Sweet Idea, Evening Slippers (Snitzel/Flidais) put in a very sharp piece of work over 600 metres this morning. The filly impressed jockey Rachel King as she bowled the final furlong in 12.3 seconds. She was all business in her gallop and Rachel commented, "This is a lovely filly. She was a total professional and was focused on the job. The filly did that easily and I was very happy with her." Evening Slippers is steadily improving this time in and we are pleased with her improvement over the past few weeks.
2YO colt Lewis (Fastnet Rock/Sunday Joy) earned 'Best of the Morning' honours from jockey James McDonald this morning. The colt stylishly bowled over 600 metres alongside stablemate Past Tense (Wandjina/Yesterjoy). The well-matched pair easily quickened down the straight to stop the clock at 11.3 seconds for the final furlong. James commented, "This is a lovely colt. He has a great attitude and gave a good feel this morning. That was very strong work." We will continue tapping away at Lewis' fitness over the coming days and we are happy with how he is coming to hand this time in.
2YO colt Fiery Red (Pierro/Blazing Snitzel) pleased in his gallop over 600 metres this morning. The colt was all business in his gallop and easily quickened down the straight to cover the final furlong in 11.0 seconds. Jockey Adam Hyeronimus was aboard and commented, "He showed improved focus today and gave a great feel. That was good work." We are pleased with how Fiery Red is coming to hand this time in.
