Trackwork Monday 01 April 2019
Light Exceed (Exceed And Excel/Mysterious Light) has returned to the stable a happy, healthy filly and this morning she commenced her pacework over 800 metres at three quarter pace. The filly bowled over the track with a smile on her face and pulled up having a small blow after she covered the final furlong in 14.6 seconds. Light Exceed is still soft at this early stage, so we have implemented plenty of swimming and slower paced work on the High Performance Treadmill to help build upon her base fitness over the coming weeks.
Redoute's Choice/Piste Noire put her best foot forward in her gallop over 800 metres at three quarter pace this morning. She worked nicely in company with Ocean Park/Insouciant and Rapid Fire (Shooting To Win/Becerra) and the trio were all business as they galloped to the finish in a steady rhythm. Jockey Winona Costin gave the filly 'Best of the Morning' honours following the effort, which indicates thatshe is coming along very nicely this time in. We couldn’t be happier with how Redoute’s Choice/Piste Noire is improving through her preparation and the best is still to come as we intensify her regime.
Artie Schiller/Silent Cash put in a pleasing gallop over 600 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The gelding worked well in company with Chief Geronimo (More Than Ready/The Warrior Woman) and the pair showed good focus down the straight, stopping the clock at 14.4 seconds for the final furlong. Artie Schiller/Silent Cash pulled up having a small blow, which is only to be expected at this time as we are still building up his base fitness and we expect to see him improve in leaps and bounds over the coming weeks.
