Trackwork Friday 3 May 2019
Hairbrush (Shooting To Win/Tapanappa) did “everything right” according to jockey James Innes Junior this morning. The filly bowled over 800 metres at three quarter pace in company with Hinchinbrook/Grenada, and showed good focus throughout the effort before pulling up having a small blow. She is still in the early days of her preparation, but we are pleased with how she is putting her best foot forward at this early stage.
Yearlings Exceed And Excel/Miss Hufflepuff and Missouri Waltz (Hinchinbrook/Tetsuko) completed their first piece of pacework in fine form this morning. The pair galloped over 400 metres at a very steady half pace, maintaining a good rhythm throughout and covering the final furlong ion 15.7 seconds. Both babies impressed us with how forward they are, they are doing everything right at this very early stage and we look forward to seeing them develop over the next few months.
Bandol (Snitzel/Miss Match) showed nice improvement in her gallop over 1200 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The filly bowled over the track with a lovely, fluid action and jockey James Innes Junior commented, “She was happy and bowled around really nicely for me today. The filly still feels a bit soft, but she gave me a good feel and will improve on from it.” Bandol is a supremely bred filly with plenty of talent and we expect to see her prove tough to beat when she gets back to the races this time in.
