Trackwork Friday 19 July 2019
It was a busy Friday morning with three groups of horses jumping out on the grass. Dazzling Damsel (Not A Single Doubt/Tingirana), Frankly Savvy (Savabeel/Frankly) and Purposeful Miss (Shooting To Win Premeditated) put in a lovely effort in their first jumpout this preparation.
Meanwhile at Rosehill, Dawn Passage (Dawn Approach/Raja Lane) had his first trial back this preparation. The talented colt jumped well, showed good speed and settled beautifully in behind the leaders. Rounding the home turn he began to improve his position and on straightening a gap appeared. He tenaciously pushed through and sprinted in the run to the line, winning his heat by a quarter of a length. DawnPassage has returned this preparation a much stronger colt and he will have one more trial before returning to the races and embarking on a Golden Rose campaign.

We also had some nice gallops this morning, including 2 year old gelding, Aecee Beau (Rubick/Freezethemillions), who caught the attention of jockey Quayde Krogh when bowling over 600 metres at three quarter. Quayde made the comment, "He worked beautifully this morning, there is a lot of quality about him. He towed me through the line and did it effortlessly this morning."
Yawkyawk (Wandjina/Spooked) is doing a great job this preparation and this morning, she galloped over 1000 metres at three quarter pace in company with her regular galloping mate Pensera (Pierro/Streama). The well matched pair were all business and they strode out over the track head to head stopping the clock at 14.2 seconds for the final furlong. Work rider Bastian Neuhaus, who was aboard for the effort commented, "She was very relaxed today and travelled strongly underneath me. Her fitness has improved and she is handling her work really well."
