Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing

Trackwork Friday 18th June 2021

So United (So You Think/Maglissa) has settled back in well to his surroundings at Tulloch Lodge and he spent his first week gently trotting and cantering on the track. This morning he completed three quarter pace work solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Swan Holzritter, he clocked 13.9 seconds over the final 200 metres and Swan said, "He was really good today. He bowled along stylishly and was on the bridle to the line." This gelding has returned to us in lovely order, and we couldn't be more pleased to have him back. He's gained plenty of condition during his spell, and the break appears to have done him the world of good and freshened him up mentally. We can't wait to see what this preparation has in store for him.

Swift Witness (Star Witness/Taylor's Command) has been in training for two weeks and this morning she completed three quarter pacework over 800 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Tilianam (Savabeel/Spending). Ridden by jockey Quayde Krogh, she clocked 14.7 seconds over the final 200 metres and Quayde said, "She gave me a lovely feel throughout, and she was nicely on the bridle to the line." We are delighted with this talented filly, and she was very focused today. She's doing everything that we are asking of her at this early stage, and we will continue to bring her along gradually.

Dundeel Star (Dundeel/Defender) has been in training for five weeks and this morning she galloped solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Vanessa Grant, she clocked 11.2 seconds over the final 200 metres and Vanessa said, "She was very good today. She travelled well, she was strong all the way to the line and this was a lovely hit out for her." We are pleased with her progress, and she's taken this step up to full pace work nicely in her stride. Her fitness will improve hand over fist now that she's doing fast work, and she should be trialling in late June or early July.
