Trackwork Friday 15 February 2019
Doubell (Olympic Glory/Covertly) has come into the stable looking an absolute picture. The colt commenced his pacework over 600 metres at three-quarter pace this morning, galloping in a relaxed fashion down the straight to stop the clock at a steady 14.3 seconds. He is still learning his trade, but he has a willing temperament and he will certainly improve with additional experience over the coming weeks.
George Altomonte's homebred, Nicola (Charge Forward/Walkway) is steadily improving this time in and she put in a lovely gallop over 1000 metres at three quarter pace this morning. The filly bowled over the track with a lovely action and found the line nicely to stop the clock at 13.1 seconds for the final furlong. Jockey Rachel King was aboard and commented, "She is coming along very nicely, that was well done." We will steadily intensify her regime as she gains fitness over the coming weeks and we look forward to her preparation ahead.
Aeecee Beau (Rubick/Freezethemillions) is a lovely, big gelding and this morning, he put in a pleasing gallop over 600 metres at three quarter pace and showed exemplary focus throughout, stopping the clock at 13.4 seconds for the final furlong. He is steadily improving this time in, with the best still to come as we implement full paced work into his regime.
Statuesquely (Medaglia D'Oro/Fonssagrives) showed good improvement in her gallop over 1000 metres this morning. The filly had no qualms with stepping up to full paced work and quickened nicely to the finish, stopping the clock at 12.8 seconds for the final furlong. She is still gaining fitness and muscle tone at this time and the full paced work will certainly bring her fitness to the next level. We are pleased with how she is coming to hand this time in and she is right on track to get to the trials soon.
