Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing

Trackwork Friday 11th June 2011

Omni Man (I Am Invincible/Courgette) has been in training for five weeks and this morning he galloped solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Swan Holzritter, he clocked 11.1 seconds over the final 200 metres and Swan said, "He was good today and he was focused on his own. He had a good blow on pulling up." We are pleased with this colt's progress and he's taken this step up to full pace work nicely in his stride. His fitness will improve hand over fist now that he's doing fast work, and we're excited to see how he progresses this time in.

Taikomochi (Snitzel/Geisha) has been in training for three weeks and this morning he completed three quarter pacework solo over 1000 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Quayde Krogh, he clocked 14 seconds over the final 200 metres and Quayde said, "He was focused on the job at hand and keen to do the work." We are very pleased with his progress and he's coming up nicely at this early stage. His fitness is improving and he handled the extra distance without a problem, and he's continuing to swim in the pool each afternoon to help him shed some excess condition and tone up. He's a real stable favourite who always tries his hardest in his races, and fingers crossed he's set for another fruitful preparation.

Vittoriosa (Vancouver/Way To Win) has settled back in well to her surroundings at Tulloch Lodge and she spent her first week gently trotting and cantering on the track. This morning she completed three quarter pacework solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Vanessa Grant, she clocked 14.6 seconds over the final 200 metres and Vanessa said, "She was very good today and she didn't put a foot wrong." It's only the beginning stages of her preparation, but we are delighted with this filly. She's returned to us in lovely shape, and she appears to have strengthened up nicely during her spell. She showed huge promise last preparation, and she's furnished nicely since and promises to give us all plenty of fun over the spring and summer.
