The final piece in The Everest puzzle has been completed with the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Embracer clinching the final slot.

Slot-holder James Kennedy had been left to find a last-minute replacement after Rothfire was withdrawn injured and waited until late on Monday to lock in the son of Sebring.

The six-year-old will be just Waterhouse and Bott'’s second runner in The Everest after English finished sixth in the race in 2017.

Embracer will be fourth-up into the $15 million event having impressed last start when finishing a close third behind Masked Crusader in the $500,000 Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) on October 2.
