This filly is very much in the mould of her sire & we're really impressed with his first crop of yearlings.

There is much anticipation for the new season 2yos to step out next month at the official trials, and all eyes will be on the progeny of first season sire and Newgate Stud resident, CAPITALIST. One of the best 2yos we have seen in the last decade, Capitalist amassed in excess of $3.5 million in prizemoney for his connections, to this day he is the highest earner of 2yo prizemoney in history, and he is the first colt ever to win the Breeders' Plate, Magic Millions and Golden Slipper. And let me tell you, from someone who knows a thing or two about winning a Golden Slipper, that's no mean feat.
It was no surprise to see Capitalist's first crop of yearlings make up to $750,000 in the ring. We purchased a striking filly, the first foal out of the multiple 2yo winner & Group placed mare, STROAK, for $220,000 from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud. She is an early foal, she's currently in full work at Tulloch Lodge and she is my Gimcrack Stakes filly. Everything comes very naturally to her, she's an intelligent type and is exceedingly precocious.
I love the way Capitalist stamps his progeny. They are nice, neat types, not too big and heavy, sensible and most importantly, they look like two-years-olds. They look like him and that's exactly what I'm looking for in a two-year-old, my 8th Golden Slipper winner. I am very impressed with this sire and I could not recommend our CAPITALIST x STROAK '18 filly more highly.
If you are looking for a horse who could get you back to the races over the coming months, this filly is for you.
