Wendy Lapointe, a dear and long-time friend of Rob and me, contacted me this morning to let me know that Harry M Miller has passed away peacefully.

He was surrounded by his partner Simone Logue, his three girls, Justine, Brook and Lauren and Wendy, whom he was once married to and the mother of his daughters.

Much has been written about Harry but my association with him began back when I was treading the boards.

Nowadays Harry’s daughter Lauren represents me and I’m sure she thinks I’m not the best client on the books as my days of acting and guest speaking are long gone.

Harry was always extremely kind. He was the first to encourage me to pursue my dream of acting when he spotted me in a Black and White review singing “You Made Me Love You.” He asked me afterwards what I wanted to do with my life and I told him my passion was the theatre and I wanted to become an actress. Both parents, TJ and Valerie, were horrified at the idea. But Harry said: “No Gai, you have a talent and must pursue your dream.” It was with his encouragement that young Gai went overseas to work in the theatre. On my return, Harry became my agent and the rest is history. Harry always acted fairly and gave me good advice.

Rob and I would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to Simone, Lauren, Wendy and all the Miller family. They should be proud, he was a great father and a wonderful friend.
