Trackwork Tuesday 10 October 2017

Saturday's Victory Vein Plate contender, SANTOS (I Am Invincible/Ghaliah) was senior rider Steve O'Halloran's best this morning when working over 600m on the course proper. Sliding home over his final 200 in 10.9 seconds, Steve made the comment, "He is a horse on a mission. He was very focused throughout and exploded to the line. He has improved hugely from his first up run." The colt did a terrific job to finish third in the Breeders' Plate and with the improvement he has shown since the race, he will prove mighty tough to run down on Saturday.

DELOS (Makfi/Asterie) has done a treat since his last start second at Canterbury and this morning he got the tick of approval from Steve when cruising over 1200m on the steeple grass. Working home over his final 200m in 11.9 seconds, Steve made the comment, "It was very nice work. he got into a lovely rhythm and was strong to the line." The gelding makes the quick back up at Wyong on Thursday, back him.

Domeland's OLD HARBOUR (Your Song/De Sweet Soca Song) secured his ticket to the trials after a very professional gallop this morning over 600m on the B-grass. Apprentice Rachel King partnered the 2YO colt and commented, "He has a very good idea and gives you the feel of a three-year-old. I like him a lot." Keep an eye on this youngster.

Group 1 contender SEDANZER (Sebring/Voltdanze) pleased jockey Blake Spriggs this morning when working over 1000m on the steeple grass. Running home over her final 200m in 11.8 seconds, Blake made the comment, "It was good work. She warmed into it nicely and was very professional throughout. I can't fault her." The mare is coming to hand very well this preparation and has some nice targets in sight over Christmas time.
