Trackwork Thursday 7 December 2017

The back to back winning mare Sedanzer (Sebring/Voltdanze) put in an excellent piece of solo work this morning over 1200m, covering her last furlong in 12.6 seconds. Apprentice Rachel King was in the saddle and reported, “It was a great piece of work. She was on the bridle throughout and has come on really well from her run.” The mare will be seen back on the track at Randwick on the 16th of December.

The very consistent and genuine six-year-old gelding Cabeza De Vaca (Northern Meteor/Dirty) impressed senior rider Steve O’Halloran this morning when working over 1200m. Steve commented, “He is really happy in himself, he towed me to the line and did that easily in himself,” clocking his final furlong in 12.2 seconds. The gelding is targeting the Group 2 Villiers Stakes at Randwick on the 16th.

Since returning to training after a short break, Prompt Response (Beneteau/Prompt) has been working excellently. This morning she gave jockey Josh Parr a brilliant feel whilst working over 1200m, clocking her last furlong in 13 seconds. Josh reported, “Her last 400 metres was great. Once she got into a rhythm, she was very strong to the line.” The Beneteau mare won't take long to come to hand this preparation and we are very much looking forward to getting her back to the track.

Boudicea Belle (Smart Missile/Miss Vandal) put in a fantastic piece of work over 600m this morning. Steve partnered the filly to clock a final furlong in 11.8 seconds with Steve making the comment, “That was really good work. She is very focused and professional. When I asked more of her, she responded immediately.” You will see this filly very shortly at the trials. She is certainly one to keep your eye on.
