Trackwork Friday 19 May 2017

The unraced two-year-old filly Maid Marilyn (Stratum/Longlea) was the stand out best of the morning today. Working over 5 furlongs, jockey Tommy Berry said, "She has a massive stride for a small filly and when I asked her to quicken, she stretched out and worked through her paces beautifully. I could talk about her all morning."

Similarly, two-year-old filly Mystic Empire (All Too Hard/Empress Wu) worked nicely over 5 furlongs. Jockey Rachel King made the comment, "She is so relaxed this preparation. I couldn't be happier with her." She is a very tough little filly who has done everything right since returning from her spell.

Three-year-old Long Time Ago (Redoute's Choice/Once Were Wild) completed a strong gallop today under jockey Tommy Berry. She worked over 5 furlongs, covering the last 200m in 11.3 seconds with Tommy commenting, "She was so relaxed and travelled really easily." The filly has returned to training with plenty of residual fitness and her work this morning was beautiful.

Finally, Penny Star (Star Witness/Don't Countya) has come out of her race in flying form, bowling comfortably over 6 furlongs, covering the final 200m in 11.9 seconds. Jockey Rachel King said, "I couldn't fault her this morning. She seems extremely pleased with herself and is really enjoying her work." You won't see the best of this filly until she gets over the mile but she is going through her grades nicely this preparation.
