Trackwork Thursday 28 September 2017

Exciting stayer, SOCIAL ELEMENT (Savabeel/Pare) bowled comfortably over 1400m this morning with senior rider Steve O'Halloran. Running home over his final 200m in 11.8 seconds, Steve made the comment, "He's a very happy horse and built through the line strongly." The gelding was unlucky not to have won last start but he has come through the run terrifically well and is set to have his next start in the next 10 days.

GLAMOUR CRUISE (Smart Missile/Bondarenko) has been a favourite amongst the riders of late and this morning Steve was glowing in his report when working the filly over 600m alongside her stablemate. She raced home strongly over her final furlong in 11.7 seconds with Steve commenting, "She's a very nice filly and was sharp in her work. She continues to improve and strengthen this preparation. I can't fault her."

Stampede's younger brother THINKIN' BIG (High Chaparral/Nothin' Leica Cat) got the tick of approval from apprentice Rachel King when bowling over 600m on the steeple grass with his stablemate. The colt is very sharp for a High Chaparral, much like his brother when he was a 2YO with Rachel commenting, "I really like this horse. He is such a professional and does everything asked of him. If he's anything like his brother, he has a very bright future ahead of him."

FLAMIN' AL (Al Maher/Hell It's Hot) was Steve's best this morning when cruising over 1200m, running home over his final furlong in 11.4 seconds. The colt looked very competitive alongside his stablemate with Steve commenting, "He has a lot of ability this colt and towed me around strongly on the bridle. It was very impressive work."
