Stare Breaks her Maiden at Seymour

STARE (Commands/Pleasant Change) was making her Victorian debut when she was presented third up at Seymour 06/02/17.

A previous 1600m assignment at Gosford had her primed to open her winning account but she needed to overcome a very wide Barrier to do so.

After showing brilliant natural pace to cross and lead, STARE then fought on courageously to withstand challenges from Avery and Under Our Spell. It was very pleasing to see the trio clear right away from their opposition when the pressure was applied and to the great credit of STARE, both second and third home had previous experience the Melbourne “way of going”.

A Soft 5 surface posed no problem for STARE as her breeding suggested might be the case and looking forward, the natural pace that she showed at Seymour will allow her to be suitably placed as her career unfolds, making her own luck up front as she takes on tougher opposition.
