Rise To Glory

An exciting prospect joining our stable this year from Magic Millions is this lovely colt by OLYMPIC GLORY.

A young Arrowfield shuttle stallion with a lot of upside still to come as his first southern hemisphere 2-year-olds hit the track next season. Olympic Glory was quite the racehorse in Europe with talent and speed to spare. He won four of his five races at two between the distances 1200 -1400 metres, starting his career with a 3 ¼ length victory on debut. After finishing second to Dawn Approach in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes, Olympic Glory went on a tear to win three straight Stakes races to end his season, headlined by the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.

A cracking 2-year-old who only got better with age, he turned into a sprinter-miler at three and won or placed in three Group 1 events in France and England in addition to a seasonal debut Group 3 victory. Included on that 3-year-old resume was a win in the prestigious Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot against older horses, where he beat 10 Stakes winners including six Group 1 winners to be one of the final horses trained by Richard Hannon Sr. before his retirement at the end of the season.

Transferred to Richard Hannon Jnr as a 4-year-old, the stallion added two more Group 1 victories to his resume to end his career with four Group 1s and seven Group wins overall for more than $2.5 million AUD in earnings. Olympic Glory’s accomplishments saw him named the equal top-rated British 2-Year-Old in 2012 and the World Top Rated 3-Year-Old Colt in 2013 in addition to winning France’s Champion 2-Year-Old honours in 2012, Joint Champion 3-Year-Old Colt in Europe in 2013 and Champion Older Miler in Europe in 2014.

While Olympic Glory proved himself in Europe, his leading sire Choisir will be familiar to many Australians as the sire of more than 50 Stakes winners and 30 Group winners between Australia and New Zealand. The sire power behind him, plus his good looks has made Olympic Glory popular in the sales ring. His top Australian yearling sold for $600,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale with nine others bringing six figures, including our colt.

But it isn’t just his sire who has had success.

This colt’s dam, BALLET BLUE, herself was a $300,000 yearling, owing to her pedigree and good looks. She is a half-sister to four Stakes winners, including Group 2 victor THE HEAVYWEIGHT with seven other siblings from 11 to race also winning at least one start.

THE HEAVYWEIGHT wasn’t only a 2 x time Stakes winner, he was also precocious, winning three times as a 2-year-old and placing in nine Stakes races in his career, including the Group 1 Galaxy and Group 1 Oakleigh Plate.

Showing this is a family of producers, the young Ballet Blue already has a winner under her name and is a half-sister to the granddam of Stakes winners MALIBU STYLE and EXCELORADA. Her half-sister ADDICTIVE was a second sibling to have Stakes success as a producer with her daughter SO ANYWAY winning a Listed race and placing in multiple Group races.

All in all, the horses under Ballet Blue’s first dam have won or placed in 40 stakes races.

This is the perfect time to get in on a colt out of a young mare, whose stock only looks to go up from here. Ballet Blue’s first foal is a Fastnet Rock gelding who has won five times and hit the board a farther three times in 10 starts for over $140,000 in prize money with three wins from his last four starts. Her third foal is the promising 2-year-old Tchaikovsky, who brought $1.3 million at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

If you want a colt who has the sky as the limit as his future, you’ll want to join this partnership before it is too late!
