Trackwork Wednesday 9th October 2019

It was a radiant Spring morning at Randwick today and whilst Wednesdays tend to be a quieter galloping day for us, we still had some lovely horses out on the track.

Lucand Lad (Squamosa/Lucand Star) has returned to us for his next preparation and is looking very well within himself. He galloped solo over 800 metres at three quarter pace on the polytrack under jockey Rachel King. He clocked 15.1 seconds over the final 200 metres and Rachel was most complimentary. He looked very relaxed in his work and he has a big stride which makes it look as though he is effortlessly gliding around the track. He is only in the very early stages of his preparation, but it’s lovely to have him back in the stable ahead of his summer campaign.

Vadiyann (Footstepsinthesand/Vaderana) is another who’s returned to us to commence his next preparation and this morning he galloped over 1000 metres at three quarter pace on the polytrack under work rider Alana Pearson. This strapping gelding clocked 14.4 seconds over the final 200 metres and really pleased us with his attitude, being very strong through the line. We will continue to bring him along gradually as he gears up to race towards the end of the year.

Task And Purpose is a lovely mare whose new preparation is going very smoothly. She galloped solo over 1000 metres at three quarter pace on the polytrack under jockey Adam Hyeronimus, who was most impressed with what he felt. She clocked 14.9 seconds over the final 200 metres and looked very comfortable throughout her work, stretching out nicely to the line. She’s another who’s only in the early stages of her preparation, but this last start winner should have a fruitful preparation ahead of her.
