Trackwork Tuesday 10 September 2019

It was a great morning of gallops with a few exciting Spring contenders stepping out for their main gallops this week.

HUSH WRITER (Rulership/Star of Sapphire) has come through his last start in great order and this morning he bowled over 1400m with our most senior rider Steve O'Halloran in the saddle. Clocking his final furlong in 11.7 seconds, Steve made the comment, "That was outstanding work. He was focused to the line and got into a lovely rhyhtm throughout." Hush Writer is targeting the Group 3 Newcastle Gold Cup over 2400m  on the 20th of September. If he wins the race, he is exempt from the ballot in the Group 1 Metropolitan over the same distance at Randwick on the 10th of October. We could not be happier with this gelding.

Glen Boss's Best of the Morning was the son of Deep Field, AMIENS (ex Combat Kitty). The 3 year old gelding worked solidly over 1000m on the B-grass alongside his stablemate Czarson (Stratum/Wobbly Boots), with the pair stopping the clock at 11.7 seconds. Glen commented, "That was very sharp work. He is an intelligent horse and he was very focused throughout." Amiens is set to race in the next seven days and he will prove tough to beat.

ENTENTE (Dundeel/Nextess) has come through his debut run in good order and this morning he put in a very solid gallop alongside his stablemate REGAL STAGE (Redoute's Choice/ Estelle Collection). The pair partnered well, clocking their final furlong in 11.7 seconds. Jockey Tim Clark commented on Entente, "He relaxed really well. The run really helped him to switch on and the penny has finally dropped," and jockey Sam Clipperton made mention of Regal Stage, "He is flying. He showed a great turn of foot and he's ready to win first up. He was my best of the morning." We could not be happier with either of these three year olds and they will both be tough to beat when they hit the track in the next 7-10 days.

Regal Stage winning impressively last campaign.
