Trackwork Thursday 29th October 2020

Fast Melody (Sebring/Sweetest Melody) is working well and this morning he galloped solo over 1200 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Quayde Krogh, he clocked 12.2 seconds over the final 200 metres and Quayde said, "That was lovely work. He was enthusiastic and travelled strongly on the bridle to the line." This gelding has come out of last week's run in fine form, and we couldn't be more pleased with him. He's pencilled in for both the Maiden Plate over 1500 metres at Hawkesbury on 5th November and the Maiden Handicap over 1600 metres at Wyong on 7th November, and he will be very competitive wherever he lines up.

Lakia (Redoute's Choice/Arabian Gold) has been in training for four weeks and this morning she galloped solo over 1000 metres on the B grass. Ridden by jockey Brenton Avdulla, she clocked 11.6 seconds over the final 200 metres and Brenton made the comment, "That was nice work. She didn't love the wet track, but she still tried hard to the line." We are very happy with this mare, and she's taken this step up to full pace work nicely in her stride. Her fitness is improving every day, and we'll continue to tap away at this as she gears up for a trial in the coming weeks.

Shakespear'sgalley (Galileo/Lady Shakespeare) continues to work well and this morning he galloped solo over 1200 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Brenton Avdulla, he clocked 12.4 seconds over the final 200 metres and Brenton said, "He was very good today and the further he went, the stronger he felt. He wants to work with you, and he will stay all day long." We couldn't be happier with this horse, and he continues to do everything that we ask of him. We had hoped to give him a third trial, however with the weather currently wreaking havoc we have instead pencilled him in for the Benchmark 78 Handicap over 2400 metres at Rosehill on 7th November. He  will be suited over a trip first up, but he will still improve with this run under his belt.
