Trackwork Thursday 26th March 2020

Stellar Impact (Deep Impact/Topliner) has been in training for seven weeks and this morning she galloped solo over 1000 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Vanessa Grant, she clocked 12.1 seconds over the final 200 metres and Vanessa said, "That was good work. She wanted to overdo it a little bit in the early stages, but she relaxed well into it and was focussed in the straight. She had a blow when pulling up but that’s to be expected." We are very pleased with her and she’s taken this step up to full pace work nicely in her stride. Her fitness will improve quickly as a result and it won't be long until she's trialling.

Saimaa (Pride Of Dubai/Eyre) is working well and this morning she galloped solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Sam Clipperton, she clocked 12.1 seconds over the final 200 metres and Sam said, "She worked well today, and she is a very positive and willing filly. She is only going to keep improving with time and maturity." We are very happy with her and she's taken great benefit from last week's trial, which is what we expect to see after they make their debut. She's on target for another trial in the next 7-10 days and we can't wait to see how she gets on.

Maybach (More Than Ready/Purespeed) was unfortunately denied the chance to pick up some prize money when racing was suspended yesterday afternoon. He was as bright as a button this morning and he galloped solo over 1200 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Alana Pearson, he clocked 12.1 seconds over the final 200 metres and Alana said, "He went well and he was strongly on the bridle throughout." We have now pencilled him in for the Colts, Geldings & Entires’ Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1500 metres at Rosehill on 1st April and the Wellington Showcase Cup over 1700 metres at Wellington on 5th April. We will assess the races closely next week before arriving at a decision and we can't wait for him to hit the track.
