Trackwork Monday 6th July 2020

Fast Melody (Sebring/Sweetest Melody) has been in training for six weeks and this morning he galloped over 1000 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Rock Amore (Fastnet Rock/Nicamorae). Ridden by jockey Quayde Krogh, he clocked 11.3 seconds over the final 200 metres and Quayde said, "He was very good today. He settled nicely, travelled strongly for me and he worked to the line well." We are very pleased with this gelding's progress and he's handled this step up to full pace work nicely in his stride. His fitness will improve hand over fist now that he's doing fast work and he will be ready to trial later this month.

Romantic Whisper (Medaglia D'Oro/Love To Tell) has settled back in well to her surroundings at Tulloch Lodge and she spent her first few days gently trotting and cantering on the track. This morning she completed three quarter pacework solo over 800 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Vanessa Grant, she clocked 13.6 seconds over the final 200 metres and Vanessa said, "That was a nice piece of work. She relaxed well, strode out nicely to the line and she has come back from her spell in good form." It's only the beginning stages of her preparation, but we are very happy with this mare. She's returned to us in good order and she's a happy individual. We will continue to bring her along gently before gradually increasing the tempo of her gallops.

Anotherthinkcomin’ (Vancouver/Candela) has been in training for four weeks and this morning he completed three quarter pacework over 800 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Vreneli (Wandjina/Helvetia). Ridden by work rider Calem Anderson, he clocked 14 seconds over the final 200 metres and Calem said, "He was very good today. He relaxed into a lovely, steady rhythm and he maintained it consistently to the line." We couldn't be happier with this lovely colt and he's continuing to improve. He's doing plenty of swimming and treadmill work in the afternoons to help him tone up and if he keeps progressing as he is, he should soon be ready to step up to full pace work.
