Trackwork Monday 18th May 2020

Gaelic (Trusting/Irish Darling)has been in training for four weeks and this morning he completed three quarter pacework over 1000 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Our Castaway (I Am Invincible/Oceanfast). Ridden by work rider Kacie Adams, he clocked 14.3 seconds over the final 200 metres and Kacie said, "He settled well today and worked in a relaxed rhythm to the line. They were a good pair together." We are very pleased with this gelding and he’s a consummate professional in everything that he does. He’s also doing some work on the treadmill as well as swimming in the equine pool to complement his track work and aid his fitness, and we will continue to bring him along gently before we gradually increase the tempo of his gallops.

My Sister Carole (Lonhro/Sister Madly) has been in training for four weeks and this morning she completed three quarter pace work over 800 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate Balqees (Artie Schiller/Watchful). Ridden by work rider Swan Holzritter, she clocked 14.4 seconds over the final 200 metres and Swan said, "That was lovely work. She travelled nicely to the inside of her partner and she was smooth and balanced as she strode out to the line." We are pleased with this lovely filly and she’s continuing to take everything in her stride this preparation. She’s still a bit soft, so we are also swimming her each day, and we will continue to bring her along gently before gradually increasing the tempo of her gallops.

Devils Triangle (More Than Ready/Define) has settled back in well to her surroundings at Tulloch Lodge and she spent her first week gently trotting and cantering on the trac. This morning she completed three quarter pacework solo over 600 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Ranj Singh, she clocked 14.1 seconds over the final 200 metres and Ranj said, "That was a nice piece of work. She relaxed well and she has come back from her spell in good form." It's only the beginning stages of her preparation, but we are very happy with this filly. She's returned to us in great shape and she's gained some lovely condition during her trip away.

Exceed And Excel/Caraveli has been in training for three weeks and she’s continuing to delight us. This morning, she was out on the track gently trotting and cantering as we continue establishing her routine, which is so important for these youngsters. This afternoon, she continued her education with two laps of the equine pool. We get them used to swimming from the moment they arrive with us because it’s such an invaluable tool in their training regime. This ‘weightless gallop’ is perfect for improving their fitness and giving them a solid workout without exerting any pressure in their joints, which in her case are still developing at her formative age. As you can see when she emerges from the water, she looks fit and she’s developing lovely muscle, especially through her shoulders.
