Trackwork Monday 12th October 2020

Echo Blossom (Pierro/Role Model) has settled back in well to her surroundings at Tulloch Lodge and she spent her first week gently trotting and cantering on the track. This morning she completed three quarter pacework over 800 metres on the polytrack alongside stablemate All That Sass (Hinchinbrook/Koonoomoo). Ridden by work rider Kacie Adams, she clocked 13.4 seconds over the final 200 metres and Kacie said, "That was a lovely piece of work and she has come back from her spell in good form." It's only the beginning stages of her preparation, but we are delighted with this filly. She's returned to us in wonderful shape, and she appears to have taken great benefit from her spell. We will continue to bring her along gently before gradually increasing the tempo of her gallops.

Castel Sant’angelo (Pierro/Lucky Angel) returns to the races at Warwick Farm on Wednesday to contest the Benchmark 72 Handicap over 2200 metres with jockey Jason Collett booked to ride. He had his main gallop in preparation for the race this morning when working solo over 1200 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by jockey Quayde Krogh, he clocked 12.7 seconds over the final 200 metres and Quayde said, "He gave me a lovely feel and I’m really happy with him.” He was brilliant when victorious first up, and he’s now reunited with the same winning jockey. You can forget his run last time, where being squeezed out at the start effectively ruined his chance of ever being competitive. We know he’s better than that, and he know returns to a course and distance that he’s won over previously. We expect him to roll forward from his outside barrier to lead, and he should be able to bowl along and dictate the race to suit himself. We’re very confident that he will get his preparation firmly back on track.

Emerald Bay (Not A Single Doubt/Drinks All Round) is working well and this morning she galloped solo over 600 metres on the polytrack. Ridden by work rider Kacie Adams, she clocked 10.9 seconds over the final 200 metres and Kacie said, "She was relaxed, and she bowled along comfortably before picking up nicely to the line." This filly is delighting us and she's improving all the time. She's very sharp, and she's on target for the 2-Year-Old Victory Vein Plate over 1000 metres at Randwick on Saturday.
